Black Rocket is the brainchild of a seasoned building scientist/ property developer with an extensive background in the industry and an experienced advocate. We have founded a company dedicated to making a positive impact in South Africa.

Exceptional Holdings is owned by a few family trusts and the Foster family who have a long and successful track record in property development in South Africa. Exceptional Holdings undertakes the development of prime properties for:

  • Specific clients i.e. bespoke turnkey developments – where they own
  • Specific clients i.e. bespoke – where we and the clients own i.e. Joint Ventures
  • Our own account on a speculative basis (when market is favorable again for such developments and the opportunities present themselves).

Also, it acquires high yielding income generating properties.
It manages the above to optimal efficiency.
And, it undertakes Development Coordination or Management.

Mark Foster

Mark has been in property development for over 25 years.
He has had an outstanding track record, he has also seen some challenging times in the build-up to the World Financial Crisis in 2008.
Post WFC he has developed experience in Mixed-Use Developments.
Recently he has been involved in some smaller developments and is currently investigating developments from a smaller to a larger scale, mostly in, and around Sandton.
He undertakes commercial, industrial, retail, residential estates, cluster housing, sectional title, and service station developments. He also undertakes facilities and portfolio management.

Kyle Ian Smit

Senior professional, commercially orientated CA, with an accomplished proven track record as a Financial Executive (17 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry).
I have been part of successful management teams, the most significant being Aspen, where I was part of the Executive for the SA Commercial business (Turnover +R 6 Billion).

Adv S’du Gumede

Mark has been in property development for over 25 years.
